A device is a piece of equipment or hardware that is used to perform a specific function or task. In the context of computers, examples of devices include:

- Input devices (keyboard, mouse, scanner)
- Output devices (monitor, printer, speakers)
- Storage devices (hard drive, solid state drive, USB drive)
- Networking devices (router, modem, network card)

Devices can be internal (built into the computer) or external (connected to the computer via a cable or wirelessly).
